Jeff Butterworth
Biography
Officer Jeff Butterworth is an eight-year veteran of the Sam Houston State University Police Department. Currently assigned to the patrol division of the department, Officer Butterworth also serves as the department’s sole certified crime prevention specialist. Officer Butterworth is certified as a Crime Prevention Specialist through the National Crime Prevention Association (NCPA), Texas Crime Prevention Association (TCPA), and the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE). Officer Butterworth achieved the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Professional Designation through the National Institute of Crime Prevention in 2018. Officer Butterworth has specialized his focus to the continuation of crime prevention and community out-reach at the college level, where he participates in a variety of public speaking engagements at the university level, state crime prevention conferences, local high schools, and other public events. Officer Butterworth is the former 1st Vice President to the Gulf Coast region of the Texas Crime Prevention Association. Officer Butterworth is a brother, and also serves as the faculty advisor, to the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity at Sam Houston State University. Officer Butterworth graduated from Sam Houston State University in December of 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.
