Biography
I was born in Los Angeles, California, but was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I attended college after graduating high school and i am a proud alum of several schools I attended. I have a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from Abraham Lincoln University (ALU), a Master of Science (MS) degree in Criminal Justice from California State University Los Angeles (CSULA), a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History from Loyola Marymount University (LMU), and an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Administration of Justice from Los Angeles Southwest College (LASC).
I have been a police officer with the Department of Veterans Affairs since June 2004, and I have been a sergeant since July 2019. I have worked my entire career in patrol. During my career, I have been and currently hold collateral positions of Field Training Officer (FTO), Terrorism Liaison Officer (TLO), and Crisis Negotiator on the Crisis Negotiation team (CNT). I also work as a clerk for a law firm and have done this since June 2002. Prior to becoming a law enforcement professional, I was in sales for more than thirteen (13) years.
During my career in law enforcement, I have attended numerous training course and received several designations. In addition to the Crime Prevention Designation (CPD), I have designations as a Level One National Crime Prevention Specialist (NCPS), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Fraud Specialist (CFS), a Professional Certified Investigator (PCI), a Law Enforcement Certified Property and Evidence Specialist (CPES), and a Corporate Certified Property and Evidence Specialist (CCPES). I am also licensed as Private Investigator.
